"I firmly believe that my writing has been therapeutic for me and far cheaper than paying for a psychiatrist. So all of my books have a spit of my life – and hUmOr – intertwined within each story.
We all need more chuckles and giggles to help us get through life.
A PEEK IN MY LIFE
To start with, in my family, I’m the 3rd of 4 kids...
My poor mom.
Way back when, I was born and raised in gorgeous Colorado. In my 20's, I left an incredible job at an oil company in Denver to become a flight attendant. I landed in San Diego, where I met my forever friends.
After four glorious years there, I eventually moved to Key Largo, Florida, where the loves of my life... Jack, my husband, and his two daughters, Tiffany & Nicole came into my life.
Jack and I were somehow blessed with a third beautiful, kind & intelligent daughter, Jacqueline, in 2002.
After living in the crazy fun Florida Keys for more than 25 years, we made the big move to perfection... Hawaii. We also kept the "family home" in Winter Park, Colorado. Both states will forever hold a smile in our hearts.
Writing is what gives me joy. So, I write for everyone.
Here are the "stories" behind
each genre I write:
ALLERGIES OVER THE ATLANTIC and its upcoming sequel, BUNIONS INTO BOSTON, were written because of the horrific events of 9/11 way back in 2001. The world of aviation dramatically changed and, as a flight attendant, my coping mechanism kicked in through writing and humor.
Both books in this series touch on some of my hilarious experiences in the air. (You can NOT make up the things flight attendants see and deal with while working.) They also include my life in the Florida Keys, with fun emphasis on the crazy lifestyle and the bubbling chuckles underwater while scuba diving. (My husband and I owned a dive shop at the same time we were working with the airlines!)
My first-ever romance book, PRINCE ON A WHITE BIKE (tucked away somewhere) and the book I'm currently editing, MOUNTAINS OF DOUGH are both based in Colorado. We have a home there as we enjoy actual seasons and still take on the ski slopes.
(I love to ski... but only when I have a shot of Schnapps to get me down the slopes.)
I also find I write a lot in my DARLING little office by the creek.
The need for therapy really kicks in when you have kids. (hee)
I began writing THE PUPPY TOOTH FAIRY series when Jacqueline (Jaq) lost her first tooth. We brought home a puppy around the same time, and she wondered if puppies have tooth fairies too?
Time to write a book.
When she got a little older, she suffered from nightmares and hated to go to bed because of them. We solved this by cuddling with her at night and going through the fun/silly details of her day, which made her relax and feel better about closing her beautiful eyes. This is when I created JAQ’S WACKY DREAMS. A fun series about a little girl who gets into mischief during the day, but her life really kicks in when she tucks into bed, and her days' events always turn into crazy fun dreams.
